Launch of New Products
Shieldtech plc (AIM: STEC), a specialist provider of products and services to the Homeland Security market, is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary Aegis Engineering Limited (“Aegis”) has launched a range of 'chain mail' body armour systems in addition to its existing range of body armour products. Aegis has also launched two upgrade packs which offer enhanced protection from current systems. A growing interest in ‘chain mail’ body armour systems has developed in recent times and the Group is now able to offer this ‘new’ solution to its customers. The upgrade packs have been created to increase the defensive capabilities of selected existing body armour to take them to the next level of protection without the customer needing to purchase a whole new body armour system.
Aegis is a recognised market leader with 14 new/revised ballistic standard HOSDB accreditations. Five police forces are undergoing new standard wearer trials. Furthermore, two police forces, which have not previously purchased from Aegis, have commenced their sourcing of new standard body armour from Aegis.
