Shieldtech is increasingly regarded in the marketplace as a company that sets the industry benchmark for progressive design, quality and deliverability. Inherent within the company are years of research and design experience, plus the collective talent and professionalism of our staff.
We have an enviable reputation for producing body armour that provides the highest levels of operational comfort and durability. Right now, Shieldtech’s advanced body armour systems are protecting military personnel in the most testing of theatres, including Iraq and Afghanistan.
Shieldtech’s subsidiary Aegis is a first-choice supplier to nearly half of the police forces in the UK, all of whom value our personalised approach to fitting body armour systems. We can measure and supply an entire force with body armour in an extremely short time scale. This means each set of body armour is tailored to the gender and stature of each individual officer, guaranteeing them excellent fit and maximum protection. This capability, plus our financial stability, full traceability and previous track record, make us a trusted supplier for nearly half of the UK’s police forces.
Shieldtech’s manufacturing processes have ISO9001:2000 accreditation and are audited on a six-monthly basis.
Our products
Shieldtech through Aegis has an extensive design portfolio, comprising of many design certificates from the HOSDB as well as other official certification boards worldwide. These armour compositions represent Shieldtech’s intellectual property which are not available to external parties.
Shieldtech and Aegis have key working relationships with DuPont (Aramid) and Seal of Italy (weavers). We undertake a great deal of development work in tandem with DuPont to ensure our BAS keep pace with the ever-growing threat from new armaments and methods of attack. Ongoing product development is part of Shieldtech’s philosophy, so for example each time the standard of ballistic deterrent is raised by HOSDB, we welcome the challenge of meeting the new standard and achieving re-certification fast.
· Core products: BAS including police general duty body armour (ballistic, knife and a combination), specialist body armour (ballistic, knife and a combination) and load bearing and tactical vests.

Our history
Incorporated in 1979 the business has evolved to become a progressive manufacturer focused on entirely upon Homeland Security and the key market opportunities of protection and detection.
In 2007, Shieldtech was listed onto the AIM market having raised funds to expand and develop its operating capability and to secure further acquisitions in support of their customer base at home (UK police and military) and increasingly abroad.
Expertise and investment culminated in the recent award of a contract to supply the national New Zealand police service with progressive body armour systems and similar opportunities are now being developed.
